Heading out again!

On to a new adventure! Wow, it is now upon me. When I first heard that I was going to Disneyland it seemed so far away, so many events in front of it. But on Tuesday, my youngest and I will be winging our way to the Happiest Place on Earth. We are going to do it a little bit different this year. Both my daughters just got back from Comic Con in San Diego (with lots of costumes in tow)

Thor and Loki
Snow White
and inspired by that wonderful event, Em and I are going to do a little Disney Bounding: (Disney Bounding is an alternative form of cosplay in which the participant dresses up as an iconic Disney character in casual contemporary fashion by assembling a color-coordinated outfit that is subtly evocative of the aforementioned character.) Now doesn't that sound like oodles of fun?

What you could use to dress like the Pooh!
I chose for my outfits, Ariel from The Little Mermaid and Belle from Beauty and the Beast, and Ellie from Up. Mainly because I have red hair and it is medium length, no way I am wearing a Tinkerbell wig in July! All about comfort for me. Plus on the plane going out, Em and I decided to wear similar colors of black, red and white ala Minnie Mouse. We will start our Bounding right here in Montana. I promise lots of photos and I promise to have a fabulous time! Always, Kit

Always so sweet to return home. We missed most of the heat that fell on Montana which was nice. We went from temps of 112 in Southern Washington to a lovely 65 on the coast. As we finished our grocery shopping and headed to the Condo, a mist was falling and we were driving in the clouds. I loved it! We had a fire and some wine and threw open the sea doors. We had arrived! Always, Kit

Driving along the Columbia Gorge - that's Mt. Hood, I made Steve wave from our room in Cascade Locks...LOL, the place was huge! Some wildlife and one of the many boats going down the river. Great eatery next door with lots of Native artifacts.
At the Newport Aquarium! New display and we had fun exploring and being silly. It is such a wonderful place.
Cannon Beach and Newport Old Town. Wonderful galleries and flowers. And great places to take a load off and have a tuna sandwich and listen to a gent play jaunty songs on his banjo!
Depoe Bay. The Marine Gardens. Sea and flowers right outside our door. Heaven.
How we spent July 4th! Steve running in a local race, I love my patriotic socks...LOL  Later a bottle of the best sparkling wine I hav ever tasted, a sunset and then fireworks on TV.  Just perfect!
Places we love to go! Depoe Bay downtown. Bay View Grill, Florence, Or. Saffron Salmon in Newport. Freed Gallery with their spinning wind sculptures ( I have two in my back yard!) and a Lego toy the girls gave us to put together and play with.
Last walk on the beach and two happy campers. We stayed at the lovely Davenport Hotel in Spokane, Wa. A great place to rest after our 10 hour drive. I thought it kismet that there was a painting of a sailing ship in our room. :)
