Just Relaxing

Looks like the sun is gonna shine today. That will be nice. We have had more snow and a bit of ice, but the temps are staying above freezing and that is helping with travel and the act of keeping on one's feet...lol We still have a foot of snow in the yard, so I had Hubby feed the squirrels and refill the bird feeder today. The birds found it right away and already are arguing on who can sit and eat. Just like a clique in school. Tsk, tsk.

Not much planned today, but I will get my outdoor Christmas decor organized and tucked back under the stairs in the basement. They have all been visiting in the Rec Room together (with Halloween) and drying out.  There is something so satisfying about putting it all back in it's place for the year. Later I will make Bean and Ham soup. With hot rolls and Iced Tea it will be a splendid dinner while watching the Playoffs. Oh, how I am loving all the football.

I am always amazed when I read other blogs at how similar we are. One of my friends mentioned that she used to always get a Date Book from Hallmark each year. I have been using them for decades and I have kept every one! They have so many great notes in them. Some regarding folks long gone, some of milestones (Emily Walks!)  and just haircuts and how much I weighed. Oh how I wished I was still that light....lol  I went to get my new one and oh no, they were out. So I emailed Hallmark and they are sending me one in the mail. Whew, I don't know if I could go thru a year without my trusty Date Book.

Work has been going great and I finished decorating the lunch room as a Winter Wonderland. In Montana, you can't dream of spring just now, you have to embrace Winter or go crazy....lol So, many snowflakes are in evidence, as is snowmen.

I am out of coffee and feeling the need for a Cutie Orange. Time to get crackin', I have a game to watch at 2ish, and those Blow Mold Santa's are getting a bit feisty, I think I may have to separate them with the Trick or Treaters and the Halloween Ghost....lol  :P Always, Kit

You better keep those Santas in line!

We had 7 inches of fresh powder to ski this morning ... along with 100s of others here for the 3-day weekend! We came home after a few runs - because we can! Enjoy the playoff games!

Oh Kit , how fun that you love the hallmark little books, and that you have kept yours! I'm pretty sure I have mine but no idea where, in my big journal box. I must email Hallmark and ask for mine too.

Funny how alike, and yet so different---you couldn't pay me to watch football, even with the temptation of your delicious food.

And oh no, rowdy Santas!? Make me wonder what the angels in the box under my bed are up to.

Have a great weekend.

PS I walk around with an old ski pole for safety on icy sidewalks. I may look silly but I Do Not Care! :-)

Speaking of Hallmark, they closed ours and are making a cultural center (or something). Hallmark was already that. I felt it was the heartbeat of downtown. I'm really a sore loser about it. The datebooks are kind of like a mini journal. Good for you for saving them. I like this time of year, don't you. Feels so good to get organized. Hope you have a great Sunday. Diane

I used to use those Hallmark pocket calendars too. But as we got older, I graduated to a planner that is totally necessary to keep track of the many Doc appointments and places to go that we have to remember each month. AND, there is only one Hallmark store left in the South Bend area and I confess that I'm not sure it is still open. I used to start buying Hallmark ornaments in July when the newones came out for collections I had and gifts intended for friends and family. My Grands all have their own collections. They sure bring back a lot of memories each year.

We have snow, ice and the flu has come and gone and hopefully no new strain will visit this year. Enough is enough with two diffent varieties have gone through the house already this year.

Be well and stay warm.
xx, Carol

Oh, I forgot. I read an article the other day that says I am 66 and should give up my stuffed animals. Well, I have a leopard on the shelf in my bedroom that my grandson gave me almost 20 years ago. He put a stamp where the belly button should have been. I will treasure it always. Glad to see you also have a stuffed animal. Not sure how old you should be to give it up. I hope you keep yours forever.

Hi Kit! I hope you got some coffee!
You are so dear to decorate the cafeteria for the kids. I bet they feel loved. Those are sweet things that mean so much to them.

Happy 2018, Kit!

Winter in Montana sounds absolutely cozy, albeit, cold! Enjoy the season!
