Always so sweet to return home. We missed most of the heat that fell on Montana which was nice. We went from temps of 112 in Southern Washington to a lovely 65 on the coast. As we finished our grocery shopping and headed to the Condo, a mist was falling and we were driving in the clouds. I loved it! We had a fire and some wine and threw open the sea doors. We had arrived! Always, Kit

Driving along the Columbia Gorge - that's Mt. Hood, I made Steve wave from our room in Cascade Locks...LOL, the place was huge! Some wildlife and one of the many boats going down the river. Great eatery next door with lots of Native artifacts.
At the Newport Aquarium! New display and we had fun exploring and being silly. It is such a wonderful place.
Cannon Beach and Newport Old Town. Wonderful galleries and flowers. And great places to take a load off and have a tuna sandwich and listen to a gent play jaunty songs on his banjo!
Depoe Bay. The Marine Gardens. Sea and flowers right outside our door. Heaven.
How we spent July 4th! Steve running in a local race, I love my patriotic socks...LOL  Later a bottle of the best sparkling wine I hav ever tasted, a sunset and then fireworks on TV.  Just perfect!
Places we love to go! Depoe Bay downtown. Bay View Grill, Florence, Or. Saffron Salmon in Newport. Freed Gallery with their spinning wind sculptures ( I have two in my back yard!) and a Lego toy the girls gave us to put together and play with.
Last walk on the beach and two happy campers. We stayed at the lovely Davenport Hotel in Spokane, Wa. A great place to rest after our 10 hour drive. I thought it kismet that there was a painting of a sailing ship in our room. :)

Welcome home! What a beautiful place to visit. And it looks like you had so much fun. My fave part was your arrival, throwing open the windows and lighting a fire, pouring some wine. Perfect. Whenever we come home from ''away''---anywhere, my kids open all the car windows or the sunroof as we cross the bridges to home. "Smell the salt air, mom!" Delightful. I m so glad you had a a great time. [did you make a glass globe?]
