I have purged, and hibernated and I swear I have watched bits and pieces of the movie, Sense and Sensibility (on Encore lately) at least 6 times. Which spurred me to drink many cups of tea, write actual letters on paper, and made me curious and wonder, just what is leg of mutton? I seem to have dusted the whole house, re-arranged the many collections I own, and my bed time has slowly been creeping down toward 8 o'clock. I curl up with my book and block out the cold and it is heaven. I can almost pretend that I am back in a different century. Winter does that to me. But....
That will all come to a screeching halt come Sunday. When I step off the plane in lovely (and hopefully sunny) LA! Hubby and I are taking a trip to Disneyland to celebrate 35 years together and we are both getting very excited. The weather here has been very very cold and our valley hasn't seen much sun of late. So it will be a treat. I love everything about Disney and from the rides to the flowers and the parades and the wonderful food, I will be in a different kind of heaven. For one magical week, I can pretend it is Summer. And pretend I am a youngster again. Always, Kit

Or as I like to think ~ fun time for me!...LOL There is something about cleaning out unwanted items, re-positioning current keepers, and giving my place a new look that excites me to no end. When folks ask me what my hobbies are and I include interior decorating. They give me a strange look. "For other people?" Nope, just for me. So many people keep the same look to their homes for years on end. Okay for them, but I like to mix it up a bit. Ever since I entered the world of blogs and saw, oh so many lovely photos of projects and colors and style, I can't sit still. On the docket is the bathroom, which I will start in February. But for now, I need to create some room in my storage area. So out will come the boxes, in will go stuff no longer wanted, and hubby will put in the car to take to Goodwill. And I will feel great and ready to revamp my space. :) Always, Kit

I have thought on this for a very long time, okay just this morn as I lazed in bed. But I love this month! It has become my all time favorite. Not only does it start off with a bang (we had lots of great firecrackers lighting the sky), plenty of bubbly to drink and my best guy standing right beside me, but then the month stretches ahead of me. Nothing planned, no major projects, no shopping, no huge meals to cook. A month full of calm, snow, reading, watching movies (especially British ones), planning, and sleeping. I must be part Grizzly Bear, I just love to curl up on these cold days and just pull the throw up to my chin and settle in with my tea and my books. Because let me tell you, I bet that is just what they are doing right now. :) January gives me license to be a bit lazy. And I am going to take advantage of it, starting right now. Always, Kit
