The big event came on July 19, 1985 at 11:17 in the morning. I spent the whole night before in labor all on my own, just the way I wanted it, so I could savor the feelings. My daughter and I, curled up on the sofa; reading, embroidering and bonding. We chatted and shared dreams, and cherished those last hours totally connected to each other, as close as two people can be.
Now 26 years later, it is hard to believe and wonderful to realize, that we are still so very close to each other. I am so very lucky to have such a lovely young lady, who is funny, smart and beautiful, and so very kind. She does me proud. We are each others BFF's (Best friends forever!) and can't seem to go two days without seeing each other for a trip to Taco Bell and a major chat fest! We celebrated her special day on Tues. with a rip roarin' good time of Cowboys and Horses. I love themed birthdays and this one was fun; with cowboy hats, bandanas and of course jerky! In a tribute to Spaghetti Westerns, we had dinner at a local Italian restaurant (Ciao Mambo) and finished up the evening drinking root beer and eating cake. Because of course that is what cowboys do around the campfire after a hard day of roping cattle....LOL What a fun time and always great to get the 4 of us together again. But even more so, having my "baby" with me on our special day. Happy Birthday E! LYS
